This is precisely where Matica’s LES 8000 laser engraving system excels. This state-of-the-art standalone system seamlessly integrates the unprecedented power of an industrial quality laser engraver. Despite its remarkable capabilities, the system maintains a compact design, weighing approximately 32 kg, making it an ideal desktop solution for card issuance within branches or bureaus. It perfectly caters to various applications, including drivers’ licenses, national IDs, visas, and vehicle registration cards.<\/p>\n

Precision, speed, and efficiency for high-security printing<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LES 8000 relies on a robust 6W DPSS laser to achieve a printing resolution of 600 to 1,600 dpi. This allows capturing maximum details in the reproduction of ID pictures in grayscale. Integration of micro text as an extra anti-counterfeit measure is similarly feasible at this print resolution. This model\u2019s printing method enables the addition of MLI and CLI, tactile and non-tactile engraving. Laser security options further include offset registration, MRZ reading, and a vacuum system. The magnetic stripe, as well as contact and contactless chip encoding, are similarly available.<\/p>\n

This industrial printer takes advantage of parallel processing for maximized throughput: feeder encoder and\/or barcode reading, laser engraving, and single or dual lamination<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. By this means, an output of about 120 cards per hour assuming average ID card<\/a><\/span><\/strong> variable information and simultaneous execution of magnetic and smart card encoding can be attained. Since card feeding and card encoding are executed before the engraving process, a reduction of downtime resulting in high efficiency is possible.<\/p>\n

Each LES 8000 can increase production when heavy chip encoding is combined with card printing. Service bureaus especially benefit from the fully automated, personalized process. While this model is normally equipped with one 350-card feeder encoding module (FEM), the capacity of the card stock may be increased to 1,400 cards with three additional FEMs for uninterrupted production. At max, this laser engraver achieves an output of up to 120 dual-sided cards per hour.<\/p>\n

For an even higher volume, you can also create and operate a parallel workflow of multiple units through the Advanced Intelligent Printer Management. Furthermore, its modular design allows you to continue to configure, upgrade or swap components to suit the jobs it has to complete. For instance, a single or dual-sided lamination module (e.g. Matica\u2019s ILM-LS or ILM-DS) or third party chip encoders can be integrated upon request. Lastly, various physical and electronic locks enhance the model\u2019s own safety features to prevent unauthorized access.<\/p>\n

In sum, the LES 8000 laser engraver is efficient, yet a compact desktop solution for state-of-the-art security printing, particularly well-suited for governmental applications.<\/p>\n
