EDIsecure YMCK-PO Ribbon has yellow (Y), magenta (M) and cyan (C) panels for creating full-color images on one side of a card. \u00a0The black resin (K) panel is for printing black text, images, and barcodes on the same side of the card. \u00a0The peel-off (PO) panel is used for magnetic stripe cards or cards with a pre-printed signature panel. \u00a0The user can determine a section on the card where the re-transfer film will not be applied. \u00a0This section will \u201cpeel-off\u201d to reveal a non-printed area.<\/p>\n

Ease of use<\/h2>\n

These ribbons provide high-quality printing and ease of use. Each printer<\/a> automatically recognizes the ribbon type and knows exactly how to use it in the most optimized way. YMCK-PO Ribbon\u00a0provides status checks of the remaining ribbon and automatically alerts when the ribbon is running low.

How to choose a ribbon?<\/h2>\n

If you are printing full-color images on one side of a plastic card, you will need a YMC, YMCK or YMCKO ribbon.<\/p>\n

All colors can be created from yellow, magenta, and cyan panels. A YMC ribbon will create a composite black by mixing together yellow, magenta and cyan.
\nBlack won\u2019t be very sharp or dark.<\/p>\n

The \u2018K\u2019 is a black resin panel. We highly recommend a YMCK ribbon if you\u2019re printing black text. If you\u2019re printing barcodes, a YMCK ribbon is required for
\nthe black to be crisp enough for a barcode scanner.<\/p>\n

If you are printing full color on both sides of the card<\/a>, you would buy a YMC, YMCK, YMCKO or YMCK-PO Ribbon\u00a0and either manually feed the card through a second time<\/p>\n

or use the flipper if you purchased a dual-sided printer. A color ribbon will yield half as many cards if you print on both sides.<\/p>\n
