XID8600
A High Resolution Card Printer – 600dpi
The Matica XID 8600 card printer employs indirect printing technology. The consumables for indirect printers include ribbons and film. In this process, the printer’s head does not directly contact the card. Instead, it transfers colors from the ribbon to the film, which is then printed onto the card via a thermal roller. Indirect printers can print on various cards, and their heads come with a lifetime warranty.
Indirect printers come in different models, with the Matica XID8600 offering a resolution of 600 dpi.
The advantage of the Matica XID8600 printer is its superior technology, particularly in terms of resolution and card quality.
Security Features of the XID 8600 Card Printer
This printer also includes UV security printing capabilities. This means that when a YMCK UV ribbon is used, security features that are only visible under ultraviolet light can be printed.
Overall, the XID8600 printer can use both normal and UV ribbons, providing versatile printing options.
Optional Internal and External Modules for Maximum Flexibility
The XID 8600 card printer can be customized to meet your specific needs. Both internal and external modules can be added to configure the printer according to its intended use. Since complex ID card applications often require personalization on both sides of the card, the standard model is already equipped for duplex printing thanks to the internal flipper module. Additionally, a 200-card feeder (For cards with a standard thickness of 0.76 mm) is integrated into the system.
Further options include a bending correction unit and several encoding modules. The bending correction unit can be added to straighten cards after processing. Available encoding options include a contact or contactless chip encoder, as well as a magnetic stripe. Moreover, the XID 8600 can be connected to single or dual-sided lamination modules (Matica’s ILM-LS or ILM-DS) to enhance card durability and tamper resistance.
The Matica XID8600 comes standard with USB and Ethernet interfaces for easy connection to a computer.
Optional Units

Maintenance Tips
To extend the lifespan of your card printer and make the best use of consumables like ribbons and films, and to maintain the highest print quality, follow these guidelines:
-
Regularly check the clear roller at short intervals. If it is dirty, wash it with water and dish soap. Do not use direct heat, sunlight, or a microwave to dry it.
-
Never turn off the printer during printing.
Cover the card printer after use to protect it.
Avoid using greasy, wet, or dirty cards.
Have the printer serviced by a professional every six months, depending on the amount of usage, to extend its lifespan.
Handle the printer carefully during transport to avoid damage.
How to Clean the Clear Roller
To clean it:
Open the front cover of the printer and bring out the clear roller as shown in the image below.
Check the clear roller every two weeks. If you see dust or dirt, wash it.
Rinse the clear roller with water. If it is very dirty, you can add a small amount of dish soap to the water.
After washing, let it dry in a clean room, away from dust. Avoid leaving fingerprints on the rollers.
Once dry, place the roller back into the printer as shown in the image.
چگونه فیلتر کارت پرینتر را تمیز کنیم
To clean the card printer filter:
Open the filter compartment as shown in the image below.
Bring out the filter. Mix a small amount of dish soap with water and wash the filter in it.
Do not use heat to dry the filter. Let it dry in a clean, dust-free environment for several hours.
Once the filter is dry, place it back into its compartment and close the cover.
Please note, that if the security seal from Sepehr Anformatic Derakhshan on the back of the card printer is broken for any reason, the device will no longer be covered under warranty.
To print a card, you first need to perform the initial setup of the card printer. Follow these steps:
Connect the device to a power source and turn it on.
The first message you will see on the LED display is “Boot Up …”. This indicates that the device is starting up, so please wait for a moment.
Next, the message “Initializing Total” will appear. This means the printer is configuring its components. Allow the automatic initial settings to complete.
The next message will be “Preheating Total”, indicating that the printer is warming up its print head.
Once the device is ready to print, it will display “Ready Total”. Note that this is not an error message.
Do not overload the card hopper with too many blank cards, as this can expose them to dust and dirt, ultimately reducing print quality and the lifespan of the clear roller.
Keep the number of cards in the hopper between 40 and 60. To ensure proper placement, place a small, relatively heavy object on top of the blank cards as shown in the image below.
Handling Jam Turnover Errors in XID 8600 Card Printers
The “Jam turnover” message indicates that a card is stuck in the duplex unit of the card printer. Bring out the card and perform a “home position” reset as follows:
Home Position Reset:
Open the front cover of the device.
Bring out the two triangular wrenches from the bottom of the device.
Insert the wrenches into the specified slots (as shown in the image) with the wrench grooves pointing to 3 o’clock.
Then, place the wrenches back in their original position.
Reset the device and press “Enter”.
