The Printing Process with PVC Card Printers

The near-edge technique, which is relatively low-cost, leaves a five-millimeter margin at the edge of the card. The reverse transfer technique, which provides the highest quality PVC cards, ensures no part of the card remains blank. This method, known as edge-to-edge printing (Overlay), is one of the indirect printing techniques. Due to the use of a film, it offers excellent image quality and performance. The final method, known as direct-to-card printing, is the most commonly used and cost-effective technique. In this method, the PVC printer’s printhead directly contacts the card. Many commonly used PVC cards are printed using this method.
